- 15mm plywood, mine was a cheap cutoff from the as-is section
- 1m 19" rack rail, cut in half, like http://www.aweo.de/Adam-Hall-6162-Aluminium-Rackschiene-stufenlos-mit-Gummikeder - this one has a rubber strip at the back that holds the nuts in place
- matching rack nuts and screws:

- 4x60 wood screws
- ~6x12 wood screws for the rails (random find in my screw box)
Dimensions:
The rack rails are made for a 50cm internal width of the rack, so the top and bottom part are exactly 50cm wide. With the rails 50cm long and 2x15mm plywood, the height of the side parts is 53cm. The depth of the rack is up to taste, mine is 38 on the bottom and 16.5mm on the top
- cut wood to size
- I routed all edges with a 3mm roundover bit, otherwise sand the edges.
- cut rack rails to size
- pre-drill side parts with 2.5mm pilot holes, 7.5mm from the edge
- align sides and top/bottom and predrill top and bottom through the same 2.5mm holes
- extend side holes to 4mm and countersink
- pre-drill rack rails with 4mm (needed for the screws I had)
- align rack rails on the sides, set back 2cm from the front edge and pre-drill 4mm using a depth stop at 12mm (leave 15mm space for top/bottom)
- extend holes in rails to 6mm
- screw rails to sides
- attach sides to top/bottom
done :)
